Privacy policy

GrouPot helps friends keep track of shared costs. This page explains what we store, why, and how you stay in control of it.
What we store
Your name and profile photo, if you add them. Your email address, if you sign in with email or Google. The pots you create or join, and the expenses, payments and receipt photos added to them. Your settings, such as your default currency. If you use the app without signing in, we create an anonymous account on this device.
How we use it
Only to run the app: to show your pots, work out balances, and keep the members of a pot in sync. We don't show ads, we don't track you across other apps, and we never sell your data.
Who sees it
The members of a pot see its name, its members, and everything added to it, including receipt photos. Your payment details are private: they are only added to a money request when you choose to send one.
Services we use
Supabase hosts our database, sign-in and file storage. Google handles Sign in with Google. Frankfurter provides exchange rates; it only receives the currencies and the date, never anything about you.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. Profile → Delete account removes your account, your profile and your photo for good. Expenses you added to pots shared with others stay in those pots, under your name, so their balances stay right.
Your rights
You can see and change your data in the app at any time. You can also ask us for a copy, a correction, or deletion by writing to us.
Children
GrouPot is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, let you know in the app.
